Freight Traders has successfully delivered 9 pad-mounted transformers totalling 80 tonnes from Asia

Specialising in high-value electrical infrastructure logistics, our team managed the entire international transit, stringent border clearances, and specialized site delivery.

To ensure safe transit, the 9 x transformers were shipped as Out-Of-Gauge (OOG) cargo utilising open-top containers. Freight Traders appointed an independent marine surveyor at the origin port in Asia to meticulously inspect the loading, lashing, and securing arrangements, guaranteeing the cargo met strict international maritime safety standards before departure.

Upon arrival in New Zealand, Freight Traders executed an efficient end-to-end logistics plan to transport the critical infrastructure directly to its final destination:

  • Comprehensive Border Control: Our team managed all local customs and biosecurity formalities to achieve rapid clearance at the port.
  • Specialised Mobile Gantry Unloading: At the delivery destination, we arranged a safe offloading solution using a mobile gantry crane to handle the transformers precisely.
  • Direct-to-Site Transport: The entire consignment was trucked directly to the project site in the Central North Island, minimizing handling and ensuring on-time delivery.

This operation highlights Freight Traders' capability to manage delicate, heavy energy infrastructure from foreign factory floor to final local foundations.
